Betsy says....
I'm frustrated with living so far away from everyone and having to miss the weeknight workouts. Boo.... I'm still trying my best to do what I can on my own, though. This week I've really amped up the workouts and have definitely been watching what I've been eating. (Actually following the Weight Watchers plan for realz this time) So I'm curious to see how I "weigh-in" on Thursday after work.
Here's what I've been workin':
- Riding my bike to the train station in the mornings (and then, obviously again to get home)
- Wii Fit (yesterday I clocked 52 minutes and was dripping sweat...it really is a good way to workout)
- Walking Fit DVD (with my sister, we're trying to get Vegas ready and it's fun and gives a good workout)
- Working out at my company's gym during the day with a co-worker (I don't do a very intense workout here, I refer to these "workouts" as recess or gym class. I don't want to get super sweaty and then sit at my desk again...but I do get a fair enough workout. Monday I did weights and the next day I could TOTALLY feel it. Maybe I should have stretched better?)
How I'm feelin:
- Awesome
- I have a looooooooot more energy and find myself having a hard time sitting at a desk all day
- Want to quit my desk jockey job and find a career where I will be moving more (and happy, but that's a whole different blog.)

I found my weekness...
And they are called weekends. I eat worse. I barely drink water and I definitely don't exercise (please note that it just took me four tries to spell that correctly). Something must change so I don't counteract the good work I am doing during the week.
Also I watched Bridal Boot Camp on VH1 or TLC or whatever station its on. It's kind of amazing.

Where is AT?
Where is AT at?
That's right. I am calling her out on her lack of blogging on physical well being and water drinking.
Also, I went to the gym during work hours. Today I win.

body by stacy
Stacy says we need to drink a lot of water. I thought I did drink plenty of water, but apparently I'm not always guzzling enough. I was assigned 3 Nalgene's a day (that's 3 @ 32 oz.) Today I drank 4, plus a cup of green tea. I think I would make Stacy proud.
Tonight I did my strength training workout wearing this. I bought this years ago from AVON. (Alexandra would be jealous) Mine doesn't have the waist measurements, but it does it's job. I just took it off and I'm drenched. I think I should wear it more often. If anything to reassure myself that I'm getting a good workout.
Stacy told us one of the great benefits of working out consistently was that we'd sleep like a log. For the first time in a long time I was able to get out of bed at 6am this morning, no questions asked. Usually I'm dragging myself out of that thing at 10 to 7. Gooooooood Morning to me!

countdown to slim down
It's been a crazy busy week, but I've been able to squeeze in a few workouts thus far. (I love using old school words like "thus") Sunday I popped into a Weight Watcher's meeting at 7:30am and it was practically standing room only. I didn't know anyone did WW on Sunday morning. Shouldn't they be in church? Anyways, I found out I was up 1.8 lbs. But it was ok...I hadn't gone in almost two weeks, so this was a starting point for all of this training stuff. Stacy said we'd go Sunday to Sunday, so there I go. I went to a trade show at McCormick center and walked a bunch of steps. At the end of the day I had walked like 8 miles.
Monday my sister and I did Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred. Um.......................... I used to do this workout like it was my job back in the day and now I can barely crank out the 28 minutes (or is it 22?) of pure hell. Either way I was able to check that off my list.
Tuesday I didn't really workout...but I did watch the 2 hour Biggest Loser LIVE finale. Does that count as something? It was fitness related.
Tonight I hit up my yoga class that I've been missing for the past month. I injured my shoulder and it's difficult to get excited about working out when you have a constant pain in the neck/shoulder/back. But I'm getting chiropractic care and hoping for the best. (I should mention that I used like 0.25 lb weights for the 30DS...seriously I found a pair of ratty old wrist weights from like 1992.)
I also made a little chart to log my weight, measurements, and daily workouts. I even included a little section for "steps" since I'm rocking my Weight Watchers Pedometer. I did this about a year ago and it really helped me. I hated seeing a blank spot on my chart so it pushed me to get a workout in. I ended up losing like 18 inches and like 6 pounds. I was mostly just walking and then doing some strength training.
I need to get into the groove of making working out part of my daily life again. I used to think of it as brushing my teeth or getting dressed. As pathetic as it sounds, I used to think that the best part of my day was the refreshing shower after a really great workout. Being totally sweaty and feeling awesome, knowing I was getting stronger was so rewarding. I want that back.
And to be able to shake my butt like in the video Kristin posted.

Week One
I'm watching One Tree Hill. This show has more montages than I can count. Montages. I would like this summer to be one big montage of awesome-ness. So I made a note in my gmail tasks of which days I would do strength and which days would be cardio. This was supposed to start Monday but why put it off. So tonight I attempted cardio and didn't get very far. Partially because I am extremely out of shape and got tired pretty quickly (also it's time to get some smaller weights) and partially because I couldn't remember all the moves.
Soooo the point of this post....week one is upon us. And it's time to do some strength and cardio yall.
P.S. I got some cherries from the grocery store and one of them looks like a butt. I don't think I will eat that one.
