It's been a crazy busy week, but I've been able to squeeze in a few workouts thus far. (I love using old school words like "thus") Sunday I popped into a Weight Watcher's meeting at 7:30am and it was practically standing room only. I didn't know anyone did WW on Sunday morning. Shouldn't they be in church? Anyways, I found out I was up 1.8 lbs. But it was ok...I hadn't gone in almost two weeks, so this was a starting point for all of this training stuff. Stacy said we'd go Sunday to Sunday, so there I go. I went to a trade show at McCormick center and walked a bunch of steps. At the end of the day I had walked like 8 miles.
Monday my sister and I did Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred. Um.......................... I used to do this workout like it was my job back in the day and now I can barely crank out the 28 minutes (or is it 22?) of pure hell. Either way I was able to check that off my list.
Tuesday I didn't really workout...but I did watch the 2 hour Biggest Loser LIVE finale. Does that count as something? It was fitness related.
Tonight I hit up my yoga class that I've been missing for the past month. I injured my shoulder and it's difficult to get excited about working out when you have a constant pain in the neck/shoulder/back. But I'm getting chiropractic care and hoping for the best. (I should mention that I used like 0.25 lb weights for the 30DS...seriously I found a pair of ratty old wrist weights from like 1992.)
I also made a little chart to log my weight, measurements, and daily workouts. I even included a little section for "steps" since I'm rocking my Weight Watchers Pedometer. I did this about a year ago and it really helped me. I hated seeing a blank spot on my chart so it pushed me to get a workout in. I ended up losing like 18 inches and like 6 pounds. I was mostly just walking and then doing some strength training.
I need to get into the groove of making working out part of my daily life again. I used to think of it as brushing my teeth or getting dressed. As pathetic as it sounds, I used to think that the best part of my day was the refreshing shower after a really great workout. Being totally sweaty and feeling awesome, knowing I was getting stronger was so rewarding. I want that back.
And to be able to shake my butt like in the video Kristin posted.
